It’s a pleasure to have friends from afar. The seminar series “Into Morimatsu” came to a successful conclusion on October 21, 2021 at Morimatsu’s Shanghai Airport Factory. The conference focused on the topic of “import substitution and digital intelligence first”, and showed the new vitality of Morimatsu in its field of specialization to friends from all over the country in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Since its inception in 2010, the “Into Morimatsu” series has been held successfully for 11 years. As a traditional marketing event of Morimatsu Pharmaceutical Equipment Engineering, it aims to build a face-to-face interactive platform to share and exchange the latest development trends and technologies in the industry.

The seminar, the first after Morimatsu went public, brought five keynote speeches covering the process of localization of core equipment, new developments in design, validation, digital and other value-added services, and the latest cases of integrated engineering solutions. There was also a factory tour guided by the Morimatsu team.

Highlights of the design of large industrial scale bioreactors

Due to the stimulation by policies and collective procurement, there is an urgent demand for import substitution of core equipment. As a leader in providing large-scale industrial bioreactors in China, Morimatsu took the opportunity to share its experience in the safety of materials used, non-pollution of functional design, structural design, equipment appearance design, and equipment interface design as well as precision and stability of the control system in bioreactor projects, and shared its core technologies in large-scale industrial bioreactor scale-up design with the attendees.

Overall design of biopharmaceutical projects - from concept to implementation

Based on its years of practical experience in biopharmaceutical engineering projects and its knowledge of the development trends of production facilities in the field, Morimatsu provides the most appropriate process solutions according to customer needs. Besides the latest continuous production process methods, we also shared application examples related to hybrid solutions for stainless steel/disposable equipment, higher system integration construction, and energy savings at a higher level based on design.

Validation service based on latest regulatory and guideline requirements

We systematically introduced the differences between the latest validation methods and the previous ones. Based on it, we shared how to conduct debugging and validations in accordance with the latest validation methods in the ISPE guide. And we also introduced the key points of the evaluation system and the key design elements of the identification system to the attendees from the elementary to the profound.

Application and cases of modular plants in biopharmaceutical projects

Starting from the concept of Morimatsu Pharmadule modular plant, we introduced the division of modules, drivers, strengths and other associated contents, and shared with the attendees the execution strategy of modular plant projects, as well as the antibody and vaccine project cases recently completed at home and abroad.

Technology applications - enabling lean construction and manufacturing operations in biopharmaceutical plants

After the keynote speech, the attendees entered the workshop under the leadership of the Morimatsu team to have a close contact with the core equipment, process system and digital intelligent engineering of the antibody, vaccine and insulin projects in progress, and to personally experience the excellent quality of Morimatsu products and the lean management of the factory.

With the end of the factory tour, the seminar drew to a close. Undoubtedly, the questions around “import substitution and digital intelligence first” were answered in this seminar with new ideas and new thoughts.
