Recently, the Rewind PET plastic recycling project of a Japanese customer undertaken by Morimatsu was successfully delivered. The project, located in Japan, is of great significance in helping quality recycling enterprises realize green, low-carbon and high-quality development in order to promote the development of the global economy and improving the living environment for human beings.

Morimatsu empowers customers to turn the concept of new Rewind PET technology into reality. This new technology overcomes the bottleneck of PET regeneration technology by adopting chemical recycling method. It allows PET waste to be recycled and regenerated into high-purity food-grade PET raw materials by extruding PET waste, and then going through the steps of alcoholysis depolymerization, decolorization, impurity removal, distillation and purification, polymerization, etc., which can further effectively remove impurities and increase recycling rates of PET waste.

The project is designed and constructed in accordance with the Explosion-proof Standards of Japan. It is a pilot plant for customers to expand production scale, with function units such as depolymerization, decolorization, and removal of impurities from PET. The overall project was modularized and it took 10 months to complete detailed design, procurement, module manufacturing, disassembly, packaging, transportation, etc. This could help customers increase the original production capacity and the continuous running time of the overall system.

To tackle the difficulties in plastic recycling, the Japanese customer actively explores innovative ways, and Morimatsu helps the customer realize its dream.
